Every team has its heroes; Suarez at Liverpool, Yaya Toure at Man City, Huddlestone at Hull City to name but a few.
Down at Beveree, it’s the Twins… Dave Tarpey and Charlie Moone. Born on the same day, in the same hospital and friends since childhood, plus with a definite facial similarity that has confused a few. They deal in goals and this season has seen a bumper crop.
Tarpey rejoined the club in January and has already reached double figures in that short time. Primarily a striker, he can drift out on the wings and become an old fashioned inside forward, whipping in crosses the like of which forwards love.
But it’s been the man Charlie who has set the league alight this season. 2 hat-tricks and a 4 have been part of his season and it’s seen him terrorise defences to the extent of racking up 40 goals in all competitions this season, 34 in the Ryman Premier League. He’s now close to the top 5 leading scorers in the clubs history, and the statisticians will no doubt be going through the records to check…
edit: Charlie is in fact 6th in the all time goalscorers list for the club, and a goal in the last two games will make him joint fifth.
